Tips and Tricks for the Cobb

How do I start the Coals?

When using briquettes on a Cobb Grill we recommend a solid fire starter. The brand that we recommend is called "Quicklight" manufactured by Bryant & May.

When using Cobblestones NO firelighter is required, however, a little crumpled card board in the base of the fire chamber is a good tip to ensure minimum requirement of lighting.

We do not recommend using any type of liquid fire lighter fuel, since the Cobb has air holes in the base and the fuel may leak through these and cause damage to the Cobb.

How long do I have to wait for the Charcoal before I start Cooking?

The charcoal should be 30% grey for optimal cooking temperatures.

Cooking over a fire is mankind's most ancient way of preparing food. Through the years, there have been many improvements in the art of barbequing, but none as impressive and innovative as the COBB.
